April 1, 2020

Tomorrow is World Autism Day, so let's get our BLUE on!!! And--remember, Thoughtful Thursday!

I can't find words to describe how today's parade felt for everyone that was part of it...so I'll let this Facebook post from a family say it for me:
THANK YOU to everyone who was a part of the parade. It was so nice to see our families smiling...and to SEE so many members of our D114 family live and in person!

Today's Updates:

Remote Learning

If you review and see any issues, things that are unclear, or things that could be more clearly communicated, please let me know by 9:00AM Thursday. I'll make final revisions and do the voiceover then.

Please note:
These slides state that teachers/teams will reach out to families with details of the eLearning schedule this week and that 4th-8th grade teachers will review student email expectations as part of eLearning.

THANK YOU for all the planning that's going on---your collaboration BLOWS MY MIND!!!
There are great questions coming from your conversations, so I've started a new
Remote Learning 2.0 Frequently Asked Questions document. I'll add new info as it's needed. The goal is to have this information in one place so it's clear to all...and so I don't bombard you with any more emails than I have to. Please reach out if anything is unclear or you have questions.

SPIRIT WEEK!!!
Just a reminder of each day this week! SOOO FUN!!!!

Reminders:
Grab and Go

Starting Monday 3/30, we'll distribute on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

Cyber Read Alouds
If you'd like to do a virtual read aloud that I can send out via the Daily Family Update, please sign up on this log. Directions are included. Thanks, Barraza, for setting this up. Please send in your recording the day BEFORE your sign up date so I have it in time to upload and post for the Daily Update. THANK YOU!!!!!

Today's Kudos...
To Michelle Serini, Megan Dulen, Emily Welsh, Tiffany McGranahan, Jeff Sefcik, and Becky Laverdure for taking the idea of a parade from an idea to an amazing reality.

Shout out to Natalie, who as we "speak" is driving over to my house to drop off much needed paperwork for an upcoming IEP meeting. She picked it up personally from the parent's house and is now hand delivering it to my mailbox. I appreciate her so much!
-From Jessica Urban

OMG, I need to send a HUGE Kudos to Pam Exon - we all know Technology isn't necessarily her area of expertise.  HOWEVER... not only has she learned how to add assignments to her Google Classroom, she actually setup a Google Hangout for her class to join her for her read aloud, and managed to schedule it for EVERYDAY ON. HER. OWN!!!!  (Well, with the help of a video!)  Nice work, PEXON!!!
-From Becky Vedder

What was FUNNY today?
