Today's Updates:

Remote Learning

KEEP REPEATING...
In today's family email, I asked them to review etiquette for a Hangout. Just so you know what I requested, here's copy from the morning email:

We've learned quickly that the kids are VERY excited to see each in class meetings/live lessons on Google Hangout/Meet. ONE FAVOR--if you could please review Hangout etiquette with your kids, especially related to working in large group and using the Chat Box, we'd sure appreciate it. Key points are:
*Using mute and the hand raise feature help everyone feel successful.
*We also need everyone to keep all questions and comments on topic.
*We'd also ask for no personal conversations during class.
THANK YOU!

We also had our first "Google Bomber" today. Great job to Fred Miller for staying calm and muting the person ASAP, then kicking him out of the Hangout. We think it comes down to a student password issue, and we think it's been handled (thank you, David Roat). Thanks to Jeff to letting the FL Police and all the families in that class know about the situation.
We are on it and take this VERY seriously.

GOOD FRIDAY REMINDER
Since this is the first week of Remote Learning 2.0, I expect that the Friday part of the schedule DOES LAUNCH. This can all be pre-recorded so that you are not working on Friday if you choose not to. It’s best for our kids and families to get a routine in place, so please make sure the Friday pieces are in place. Please know that I have told and will restate in tomorrow's family email that the work is OPTIONAL since this has always been indicated as a holiday.
THANK YOU for making this first full week of Remote Learning 2.0 a success!!!!

SPIRIT WEEK!!!

Here's a sneak peek at next week's Spirit Days!

Thank you, Amanda Lorenz! 💗

Reminders:
Grab and Go
We now distribute on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

Cyber Read Alouds
If you'd like to do a virtual read aloud that I can send out via the Daily Family Update, please sign up on this log. Directions are included. Thanks, Barraza, for setting this up. Please send in your recording the day BEFORE your sign up date so I have it in time to upload and post for the Daily Update. THANK YOU!!!!!

Building Access
When you come into the buildings to get stuff, please be sure to turn off your lights and shut your door when leaving. Helps us save on energy. THANK YOU!

All superintendents have been asked by the Lake County Health Department to make sure the following are in place for all staff who come onsite:

  • No one can come to work who is sick and/or has a temperature at or above 100.4.
  • Staff must take their temperatures at home.
  • If you don't have a thermometer at home, let the administrator on site know and we'll take your temperature for you.
  • All staff should wear gloves when handling materials at Grab and Go that will be given to families.
